Femke Pluim, who initially practiced gymnastics, joined the world of athletics in 2011. She started her athletics career as an all-rounder, the heptathlon. One day her coach advised her to try another event and invited her to join a training pole and a new talent was born. Her character is her quality, she is a real daredevil. Nothing is too crazy for her.
In her first year of athletics she already took the third place at the Dutch championships for juniors. A year later, she took the national title for junior girls. It was also the year that she qualified for an international championship and was standing in the international spotlights. Because she won silver at the European Championships for juniors with a jump of 4.25 meters.
In 2015 she became Dutch indoor Champion and broke the, more than 10 years old, Dutch indoor record. Later on in 2015 she did this again. She won the Dutch title in a new national record. With this jump she gained herself a spot for the World Championships in Beijing 2015 and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016!
The focus for the coming year is to travel in the best shape to the Olympic Games.
